The Iligan City government through the office of City Councilor  and Chairman of the Committee on Culture and Arts of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Michelle E. Sweet supported and spearheaded several activities in support of the National Arts Month.

One of the activities which was well participated and received positive raves was the Lilas: Iligan's 1st Film Festival.

Lilas, literally means "Film," was organized to showcase the talents of young Iliganons in the field of movie-making.  As a result, 11 entries were submitted but due to some technical problems, only 9 were viewed and judged.

The following entries were judged:

Rotunda, Tulay, Love Struck, Love Duplicate, Lost Hours, Busay, Dilemma, Flutter Field, and Manlilimos.

All entries were judged last February 19, 2011 at the Girls Scout Office located at Buhanginan Hill, Pala-o, this city. 

A premiere night was held after a float parade by all participants around the city proper.  All movies were shown at the Berd's Cinema.

Public viewing costing PhP35.00 started February 22 to 25, 2011.  Awards night was held after the last show on the 25th of February at the St. Michael's Auditorium.
