Iligan
City had a very pleasant surprise when it was informed by the
management of ABS-CBN that it will be hosting the auditions for the
Pilipinas Got Talent! April 26, 2011 starting very early in the
morning, more than four hundred aspirants gathered at the Rizal Park to
catch the approval of a talent scout who took charge in the overseeing
the qualifications of all aspirants. Everyone thought it would be Kris
Aquino and Ai-ai de las Alas who would be around.

A
school batch reunion of our Vice Mayor Henry C. Dy held last April 24,
2011 brought Mr. Stephen Gaisano and Mr. Albino LimKetKai to Iligan
City. Accompanied by their other classmates coming from Cebu City, the
group toured Iligan City and visited Ma. Cristina Falls. They then
had their Lunch at Macapagal Ancestral House which was hosted by Vice
Mayor Henry C. Dy. The Vice Mayor was their very able tour guide during
their short visit to our beloved city.

recently, Iligan City hosted Boyto Quizon, the grandson of our
country's no. 1 comedian, Dolphy, when he and his crew recorded footages
of some episodes of their upcoming TV program entitled "Prankista!"

2 days of tackling issues concerning the subject of their field of
interest, the group scheduled a scenic tour in the city to give them a
breather.
And indeed it was one! More than a hundred
of them coming from as far as Manila and Jolo, Sulu, filled 5 jeepneys
that took them to the City Hall grounds, the barter trade, Cheding's
Peanuts, Mimbalot Falls and the most famous of our destinations - the

Iligan City launched the 1st Christmas Candy Wonderland last December 15, 2010 at Pryce Business Park located at Brgy. Tubod. Despite the rains that nearly moved the opening ceremonies, thousands of people from all walks of life gathered at the venue to witness this joyous occasion.

Iligan City Tourism Office paid off magnificently at the close of the
year. Landbank of the Philippines, one of the giant government banks in
the country, recently placed Iligan City in their 2011 Calendar when

bet to the annual Search for Singing Ambassadors for Region X held last
September 25, 2010 at SM Cagayan de Oro won the crown. Mark
Guille A. LaspiƱas or Mark to his friends, hails from Barangay

activities are lined up for the said celebration. A mass will be held
at 7:00 in the morning at Rizal Park (Public Plaza), followed by a
Program and a variety show to be participated by Hip Avenue, Kalimulan

Iligan City, through the City Tourism Office and the 2010 Diyandi Festival Executive Management Board, launched its first Iligan Docu-making Video Competition dubbed "Discarte Iligan" during this year's Diyandi Festival. The objective of the Docu-making video is to create a 15- to 20-minute film that would promote the Diyandi Festival sa Iligan. staff from Living Asia Channel visited Iligan City last August 21,
2010 to shoot a few of the tourist spots in the area. They were able
to shoot Dodiongan Falls, Mimbalut Falls, and Maria Cristina Falls including the other facilities
in NPC Nature's Park, and . The

negotiate with Living Asia Channel to come back to Iligan on
September 26-30, 2010 to shoot more of the tourist spots and the
