PROJECT 111111 will be setting records for ILIGAN CITY. BE A PART OF IT!!! A few days left for the record breaking event which was amply dubbed as Project 111111. It may sound confusing for some who thought that it is just a set of numbers put together...but in reality, it is a project to put Iligan in the world map...that is if we can break some records. (jingle...click here!)
Now what is the record that we're supposed to break? The total number of clothing collected and weighed! We can break the record if we exceed 8,000 kilos set by Spain. But since we want a more meaningful target, the organizers set it at 11.11.11 We don't need to explain further on this. What is important though is that once we have set the records, submitted all requirements to the Guinness for accreditation and verification, then we have made a grand Christmas event for the recipient of these all...our indigent constituents...which is the main objective of the project.
For your donations, please deliver them at the Bacud Office, located infront of DTI Office, Quezon Ave. Extension, Brgy. Pala-o, Iligan City.
My personal campaign then for the next four days for this very noble project are these lines... "Share what little we have to those who have less or none at all!" Be a part of PROJECT 111111! God bless us all!

What Keeps BobNY Coming Back to Iligan City
Iligan
Bloggers Society was blessed to have someone from halfway around the
world who recognizes and appreciates the effort in the events, postings,
and activities that we do. Meet Bob NY, an American who once visited
Iligan City and fell in love with it. He made a message for IBS for the
Launching and Induction of Officers last August 26, 2011. Below is the
full message that inspires the Iligan Bloggers Society to better our
craft in sharing Iligan City to the global scene. Here’s a guy who left
his heart, and keeps coming back for it, in Iligan City.
“As many of you know, it was quite by accident I found Iligan City
on the internet when I was not even looking for any place at all. The
name Iligan and its post code 9200 caught my attention and I decided to
find where it was by websearching. I knew nothing of The Philippines at
that time."

Lonely Planet Author Visits Iligan Mr. Michael Grosberg, author of one of the best and most followed travel book in the world today, Lonely Planet, just recently visited Iligan to get his first hand information on how to get around the city.
He arrived in the morning of June 25, 2011 and spent the whole day in Iligan to get the feel of a tourist visiting the place. He left late in the afternoon for Cagayan de Oro City for some appointments in the evening.
Information that he gathered included tourists spots, directions, restaurants, hotels. He is updating his book and hopefully, he will write a more colorful and interesting article about Iligan City. Mr. Grosberg posed with Tinago Falls at the background for souvenir.
